Fokker F28 Series Passsenger to Freighter Conversion - Progress

Work is progressing on the Fokker 100 engineering develoment / test fuselage. The door location and size (134 x 76 inches) has been finalized. As you can see in the image above, the door cutout has been performed. The skin surrounding the cutout has been removed to the next factory seam.

Work on the door structure design is in progress. Requests For Proposals have been sent to two major Cargo Loading System (CLS) vendors for quote.

Fokker F28 Series Cargo Conversion

Work continues on engineering studies in support of Phoenix Aero Solutions' Fokker 100 cargo conversion project. The project has been expanded to include the Fokker 70 versions of the F28 airframe.

• General Arrangment Drawings pre-released, MDL framework developed
• Cargo net hard point initial concepts have been developed.
• E-Class cargo liner test coupons are nearing production.
• Cargo container loading studies are to be conducted in the next week.
• Large Utility Door (LUD) structural design and operational concepts are slated to begin in late September.

Fokker 100 Cargo Conversion

Concept studies and preliminary design of cargo/combi modification of the Fokker 100 aircraft. Industry Partner Phoenix Aero Systems has engaged Genova Engineering to explore design concepts for implementing a game-changing, low-cost E-Class cargo liner system for installation on this aircraft and possible future applications. In addition to a new type of liner system and roller floors, a novel approach to large cargo door implementation is in the design mix.
