Fokker 100 Engineering Mule Finds A New Home
The Fokker 100 engineering development / test fuselage has been relocated to its permanent site in the Jet Midwest, Inc. hanger in Kanas City, MO, USA. At this point the airframe is being readied for survey. Soon, paint will be stripped from the LH side in the area where the Large Utility Door (LUD) will be located. Three weeks from this posting, the structure will be surveyed using a Faro laser tracker. At that point, we'll have exact datum locations of the structure as imputs to our CAD model.
UPDATE: Interior has been stripped out, and insulation removed from the area where the LUD is to be located.
Here's and exterior view of the LH side of the fuselage where the LUD location has been marked off with tape. Skins are coming off in this area as soon as the shoring has been completed.
